ALİ OSMAN ULUSOY

ALİ OSMAN ULUSOY

Ali Osman Ulusoy, born in 1927 in the Of district of Trabzon, began working in the transportation industry after completing his primary education. In his successful business career, Ulusoy founded Ulusoy Holding which is one of Turkey's leading companies in its field. He served as the first president of our club from August 2, 1967, to February 8, 1968.

After his term, Ulusoy handed over the presidency to another founding president, Rıfat Dedeoğlu. However, he was re-elected as president in the 1969 elections and so took on the role for a second time. Even after his presidency ended, Mr. Ulusoy remained deeply devoted to our club, stating, "It is an honor for me to serve my club. I am ready to serve in any position within Trabzonspor."

Ulusoy, who wished for the success of our club from the early years of Trabzonspor until the last days of his life, carried these sincere feelings for Trabzon as well. Throughout his life, he was one of the leading figures for the development, progress, and growth of the city. Ulusoy, who also served as the President of the Board of Directors, passed away on October 1, 2014.

MEHMET RIFAT DEDEOĞLU

MEHMET RIFAT DEDEOĞLU

Rıfat Dedeoğlu, one of the most important names who contributed to the foundation of Trabzonspor, was born in 1923 in Trabzon. Dedeoğlu, who chose a career in trade, began his sports journey at a young age with İdmanocağı. He was involved in football and athletics at this club for many years. He won several regional championships in high jump and triple jump in the Black Sea region. After retiring from sports, Dedeoğlu served as the president of İdmanocağı Club for 15 years. Rıfat Dedeoğlu, playing a key role in the merger of İdmanocağı and İdmangücü clubs during the establishment of Trabzonspor, became one of the founding presidents of our club together with Ali Osman Ulusoy. Dedeoğlu was the president during the 1968-1969 and 1970-1971 seasons. He also held the position of President of the Board of Directors at our club for 15 years.

One of the symbol figures of our club, Rıfat Dedeoğlu, left us on November 6, 2004.

BEKİR SUAT OYMAN

BEKİR SUAT OYMAN

Oyman, born in Istanbul in 1905, was appointed to Trabzon as the District Director in 1938. Oyman served as the District Director and District Governor in the districts of Çaykara, Araklı, and Yomra in Trabzon. Suat Oyman, who worked in the public sector until the 1950s, began practicing as a freelance lawyer during these years. Suat Oyman, who served as the mayor of Trabzon for 10 years starting in 1963, was the president of our club from 1971 to 1973. Suat Oyman passed away on November 23, 1982.

AHMET SALİH ERDEM

AHMET SALİH ERDEM

Salih Erdem, born in Trabzon in 1933, made investments in various sectors. Erdem, as one of the 20 founding members of our club, carried out his duties as acting 2nd President after President Suat Oyman declined to accept the position at the end of the 1972-1973 season. At the congress held three months later, he became the 4th president of our club. In his first year of presidency, Trabzonspor won the Second League Championship, which they had been waiting for 7 years, and was promoted to the First League. In its first season in the First League, Trabzonspor won the "Cyprus Peace Cup," a tournament held only once in history and one of the most meaningful cups in our museum, under the presidency of Salih Erdem. After his presidency, he served as a board member in the Turkish Football Federation, along with five different presidents. Salih Erdem, who served as the General President of Fiskobirlik Trabzon Provincial Directorate as well as the same institution, passed away on August 4, 2024.

MUSTAFA ŞAMİL EKİNCİ

MUSTAFA ŞAMİL EKİNCİ

Şamil Ekinci, originally from Kırşehir, was born in 1941. At a very young age, he moved to Trabzon with his uncle to establish a factory. Ekinci first served as a board member under the presidency of Rıfat Dedeoğlu in 1970.Until the June 1975 congress, where he was elected president, Şamil Ekinci served as a board member, general captain, and vice president.

In his first season as president, the 1975-1976 season, Trabzonspor ended Istanbul's dominance and became the first champion to come out of Anatolia. Trabzonspor, during Şamil Ekinci's five seasons as president, won 4 league titles, 2 Turkish Cups, 5 Presidential Cups, and 2 Prime Ministry Cups. Şamil Ekinci also served as the President of the Board of Directors for two years.

Our museum, which is the most beautiful place where our history and achievements are displayed, has been named after M. Şamil Ekinci. The museum continues to serve under the same name to this day.

AHMET CELAL ATAMAN

AHMET CELAL ATAMAN

Ahmet Celal Ataman, born in 1936, completed his primary and secondary education before studying in Trabzon High School. He then graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Istanbul University. After completing his military service, Ataman returned to Trabzon and opened a pharmacy in the Of district.

Ataman, who always supported culture, arts, and sports in his hometown throughout his life, played an active role in the founding process of Trabzonspor.

He first became a member of the Trabzonspor Board of Directors in 1973 and continued to serve in administrative roles for a long time until he became president in the 1980-1981 season. Before the 1980-1981 season, after M. Şamil Ekinci announced that he would resign, Ahmet Celal Ataman was elected as the president. In the only season he served as president, Trabzonspor became the league champion.

MUSTAFA GÜNAYDIN

Mustafa Günaydın, born in 1945 in the Of district of Trabzon, moved to Istanbul at a young age. Günaydın, who started his business career in Istanbul and made commercial ventures, made significant investments in the fields of transportation, oil, and construction.

Mustafa Günaydın was elected as the president of Trabzonspor in the congress held in October 1981, and he served in this position for a full year. Under Günaydın's presidency, Trabzonspor narrowly missed the championship, finishing the season in second place. In the congress held in October 1982, he handed over the presidency to Mehmet Ali Yılmaz.

MEHMET ALİ YILMAZ

MEHMET ALİ YILMAZ

Mehmet Ali Yılmaz, born in 1948 in Trabzon, graduated from the Istanbul Academy of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering. He was recognized as a businessman, media mogul, and sports manager. He served as the chairman of the board of directors for Tek-Art Holding, Yılmaz Yayınları A.Ş., and Titibank.

Elected as president in the congress held in October 1982, Yılmaz held this position until the middle of the 1987-1988 season. After a one-year break, Mehmet Ali Yılmaz returned to the presidency again in 1989 and served until 1992. His third presidency lasted from the end of 1996 until the end of 2000, making him the longest-serving president in the history of our club.

During his presidency, Trabzonspor won the following titles: the Presidential Cup in the 1982-1983 season, the League Championship and the Turkish Cup in the 1983-1984 season, and the Prime Ministry Cup in the 1984-1985 season.

During the Board of Directors meeting in January 1988, a proposal for "Honorary Presidency" was presented and accepted. With this proposal, Mehmet Ali Yılmaz became the "Honorary President" of our club. At the same time, the name of our current facilities is now "Trabzonspor Mehmet Ali Yılmaz Facilities."

In the 1991 general elections, Mehmet Ali Yılmaz was elected as a member of parliament for Trabzon from the True Path Party. He served as the "State Minister responsible for Sports" in the 49th and 50th governments. During his tenure as Minister, Mehmet Ali Yılmaz played a key role in making the Turkish Football Federation an autonomous entity and was one of the figures responsible for implementing the pool system in football. He passed away on April 24, 2024.

MAZHAR AFACAN

Mazhar Afacan, born in 1940 in the Çaykara district of Trabzon, graduated from Istanbul University’s Faculty of Economics and then returned to Trabzon to continue his career as a businessman.

Afacan, who was a member of our club's board of directors during our 1983-1984 championship season, served as president during the 1988-1989 season.

Mazhar Afacan, who served as the President of the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry between 1992 to 1999, became one of the important figures raised by the city of Trabzon. He passed away on August 22, 2006.

SADRİ ŞENER

SADRİ ŞENER

Sadri Şener, born in 1951, was born in Trabzon. Şener, originally from the Tonya district of Trabzon, completed his primary, secondary, and high school education at TED Ankara College as his father was a politician. Sadri Şener graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, became a civil engineer. He made investments in the construction and tourism sectors.

Şener, who was a member of the board of directors of Trabzonspor in 1986, was appointed as the vice president at the end of the congress in 1989. He began his first term as president of Trabzonspor in January 1992. During his presidency lasting until September 1994, Trabzonspor won 1 Turkish Cup and 1 Prime Ministry Cup. After a break of almost 14 years, Sadri Şener began his second term as president in February 2008. During his presidency, lasting until May 2013, Trabzonspor won 1 league title, 1 Turkish Cup, and 1 Super Cup.

FARUK NAFIZ ÖZAK

Born in Trabzon in 1946, Faruk Nafız Özak became one of the first representatives of the university-educated footballer tradition by enrolling at METU (Middle East Technical University). In order to continue his football career in Trabzon, he transferred to Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ), where he graduated from the Civil Engineering Department and became a civil engineer. Özak, who played for İdmanocağı, continued his football career at Trabzonspor following its establishment in 1967. Özak returned to Trabzonspor after a 4-year break in 1973 and won the Second League Championship, the First League Championship, the Cyprus Peace Cup with our team and served as team captain.

Faruk Nafız Özak, who served as the assistant general captain on the board during our championship season in 1983-1984, later served as the general captain and vice president, respectively. In September 1994, he was elected president and served in this role until the end of 1996. During his presidency, Trabzonspor won both the Turkish Cup and the Presidential Cup.

Özak, who was a Trabzon deputy in the 22nd, 23rd and 24th terms, held the position of Minister of Public Works and Settlement in the 50th and 60th governments. In the changes made in the 60th government, he assumed the role of Minister of State responsible for Youth and Sports.

ÖZKAN SÜMER

Özkan Sümer, born in 1940 in the Maçka district of Trabzon, was introduced to football at a young age. He played for İdmanocağı, Yolspor, Zonguldak Kömürspor, and then returned to İdmanocağı as he continued his football career with the establishment of Trabzonspor. Sümer, who played for Trabzonspor for three seasons serving as captain in several matches, finally transferred to Sebat Gençlik Club and eventually quit football.

Sümer, who is one of the key figures in the development of youth academies in Turkish football, played a significant role in the establishment of youth teams for many clubs in Trabzon. Özkan Sümer was appointed as the head of Trabzonspor's youth team towards the end of the 1972-1973 season and held this position until 1981. Sümer served as an assistant to Ahmet Suat Özyazıcı during the 1973-1974, 1974-1975, and 1975-1976 seasons. At the start of the 1978-1979 season, he became the head coach of Trabzonspor. Özkan Sümer, who also managed our team during the 1980-1981 season, had great success in two seasons, winning 2 league titles and 1 Presidential Cup. After 1981, Sümer served as the head coach of Trabzonspor three more times at different intervals. He was elected president during a congress on December 31, 2000, making him the first and only person in the club's history to have held the roles of player, head coach, and president. During his presidency, Trabzonspor won 1 Turkish Cup. He resigned from his position in September 2003.

Özkan Sümer, who is known as the "Professor of Football," and who contributed greatly to Turkish football by producing numerous talented players, also served as the head coach of the Turkish national team and held the position of Vice President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) for two terms. After his presidency at Trabzonspor, Özkan Sümer held various roles within the club, including Youth Development and Regional Coordination, Football Coordination, and Chairman of the Advisory Board. He was also the Honorary President of the Turkish Football Coaches Association (TÜFAD). Özkan Sümer passed away on December 22, 2020.

ATAY AKTUĞ

Atay Aktuğ, born in 1945 in Trabzon, graduated from the Architecture Faculty of Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ). He played for İdmanocağı during his football career, and with the founding of Trabzonspor, he continued his football journey at the club. He wore the club’s jersey for 6 consecutive seasons until 1973 and served as team captain in some matches. After retiring from football, he worked as the press relations officer on the board of directors under the presidency of Mustafa Günaydın in the 1981-1982 season. In late 2003, Atay Aktuğ was elected as the president of Trabzonspor and served as president until the end of 2005, during which period the club won 1 Turkish Cup. In addition to his role at Trabzonspor, Aktuğ also served as the Mayor of Trabzon from 1989 to 1994.

Nuri Albayrak, born in 1959 in the Of district of Trabzon, is the Chairman of the Board of Albayrak Group of Companies, which operates in sectors such as construction, services, automotive, textiles, tourism, and transportation.

Nuri Albayrak, who served as a member of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council from 1994 to 2003, held the position of president of Istanbul Metropolitan Belediyespor Club from 2002 to 2005.

Nuri Albayrak was elected as the president of Trabzonspor in the December 2005 congress and served in this role until February 2008.

İBRAHİM ETHEM HACIOSMANOĞLU

İBRAHİM ETHEM HACIOSMANOĞLU

İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, born in 1966 in the Hayrat district of Trabzon, moved to Istanbul at a young age to begin his working life. He spent many years in trade and made significant ventures in industries such as organization, petroleum, and construction.

Hacıosmanoğlu, who served as the vice president of Trabzonspor's board of directors from 2005 to 2007, was elected as the club's president in the May 2013 congress and held the position until the December 2015 congress.

Hacıosmanoğlu, who ran for the presidency of the Turkish Football Federation, was elected to the position in the congress held in July 2024 with the highest number of votes and continues to actively serve in this position.

MUHARREM USTA

Born in Trabzon in 1965, Muharrem Usta graduated from Trabzon High School in 1983 and from the Faculty of Medicine at Dokuz Eylül University in 1989. He shifted his focus to hospital management in 1993. In 1995, he took the steps to lay the foundation for Medical Park, one of Turkey's largest hospital chains.

Muharrem Usta was elected president of Trabzonspor in the December 2015 congress by receiving the most votes. He held this position until April 2018.

Muharrem Usta has also served as the President of the Health Committee of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, a Member of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council, and the Founding President of the Association of Private Hospitals and Health Institutions. He has held the positions of Chairman of the Board and CEO of Medical Park and Liv Hospital. Additionally, Usta is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Istinye University.

AHMET ALİ AĞAOĞLU

AHMET ALİ AĞAOĞLU

Ahmet Ağaoğlu, born in 1957 in the Sürmene district of Trabzon, studied at Kabataş Erkek Lisesi in high school and graduated from the Faculty of Maritime at Istanbul Technical University in 1979.

Ağaoğlu served as a board member under President Sadri Şener in 1993, and as vice president under President Özkan Sümer in 2001 and 2002. He was elected as the president of Trabzonspor in the extraordinary general assembly held in April 2018. During his almost five years in office, Trabzonspor won 1 league championship, 1 Turkey Cup, and 2 Super Cups.

Ahmet Ağaoğlu also served as the President of the Golf Federation for a long time
in addition to his business career. He made significant contributions to the establishment of the national golf team, the increase in the number of athletes, and the development of golf tourism. He also served as the President of the Clubs Association between July 2021 and June 2022.

ERTUĞRUL DOĞAN

Ertuğrul Doğan, born in 1977 in Trabzon, completed all his education, including university studies, in Trabzon. Doğan, after graduating from the Department of Business Administration at KTÜ, entered the business worlds and made investments in sectors such as real estate and energy after investing in gas stations. Ertuğrul Doğan, who founded the energy company Oltan-Köleoğlu Enerji, became the chairman of the board of the company. In 2022, he established Doğan Yatırım Holding, which operates in the sectors such as mining, energy, aviation, maritime, and technology, and also took on the role of chairman of the board of the holding.

Doğan became a board member of Trabzonspor in 2018 and took on the role of "Projects and Financing Committee Responsible." After this role, he served as the club’s vice president and became the deputy president following the congress held in December 2021. Ertuğrul Doğan, who served as a board member for 5 years at Trabzonspor, was elected president at the Extraordinary General Assembly held in March 2023 and continues to serve in this position today.
